Se trata de la vía Girardot – Honda – Puerto Salgar que fue entregada por las autoridades después de cumplirse al 100% sus obras.
Esta nueva arteria de 190 kilómetros permitirá reducir los tiempos y costos de transporte de carga y de pasajeros entre Cundinamarca, Caldas y Tolima, conectándose con las vías Girardot – Ibagué – Cajamarca (y después con el túnel de La Línea) y Neiva – Espinal – Giradot.
Si se tiene en cuenta el tiempo en que se trataba una operación logística de transporte entre Girardot y Puerto Salgar de 5 horas, ahora ese recorrido se hará en solo 2 horas y media, se nota una amplia diferencia cuando se trata de ahorro de tiempo y combustible.
“Estamos entregando la primera vía de Cuarta Generación completa en nuestro país, la conexión de Girardot-Honda-Puerto Salgar, como parte del compromiso de este Gobierno de entregar las obras. Hoy los colombianos ven su primer proyecto de 4G terminando, y verán muchos más en los próximos años, porque tenemos el compromiso de sacar adelante los proyectos para garantizar el progreso del país”, explicó el Presidente de la República, Iván Duque.
La obra cuenta con 49 puentes vehiculares y 5 peatonales y tardó casi 5 años en completarse. La inversión total en la primera autopista 4G que se entrega fue de 1,5 billones de pesos y, según la Agencia Nacional de Infraestructura (ANI), los 29 proyectos del programa 4G restantes tienen en promedio un avance del 4%.
